Nouschahr Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of Nouschahr or Nouschahr Arboretum (also Noshahr Botanical Garden , Nowshahr Botanical Garden or Nowshahr Arboretum ) is a botanical garden in Nouschahr in the province of Māzandarān in northern Iran .

The garden was established in 1957 on the initiative of the then director of the Forestry Institute Ḥabīb-Allāh Ṯābetī for research and education and was laid out in 73 plots with around 400 different native and exotic tree species . It has an area of ​​8.5 hectares.

The first results of research on growth , flowering and germination times were published in a handbook for visitors to the garden in 1969.

Today the Botanical Garden is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and is looked after by the Research Institute for Forest and Pasture Land .
