Notary Assessor

Notarassessor is the professional title for candidates for the office of full-time notary .

During the trainee service, the notary assessor is in a public-law, civil service-like employment relationship. The trainee service usually lasts three years. During this time, the aspirant is prepared for the office of full-time notary , which is done by temporarily referring to training notaries , taking on notary representation and participating in special training events.

The appointment as notary assessor is made by the state justice administration in cooperation with the notaries' chamber of the respective federal state. Only as many applicants will be appointed as there are likely to be notary posts to be filled later. In addition to the personal suitability of the applicants, professional qualifications are required , which are proven by state examinations with particularly outstanding results.
