The Nothodiplax dendrophila is the only dragonfly art of the genus Nothodiplax of the subfamily Sympetrinae . It occurs in northeast Suriname . The larvae have not yet been described and the species is otherwise only very sparsely researched and described.
Construction of the Imago
The brownish-green marbled animal reaches a length of 32 millimeters, making it a comparatively small species. The abdomen is yellow on segments one through seven and black on segments eight through 10. The wings are transparent.
Habitat
The species chooses a sandy river in the eastern coastal region of Suriname as its habitat. It usually sits on higher parts of trees and only flies down from time to time.
