Notoptera

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Depending on the author, Notoptera denotes either the order of the cricket cockroaches , which is also known as Grylloblattodea, or an order which combines the cricket cockroaches (then clearly called Grylloblattodea) and the gladiator horror (Mantophasmatodea). In this case, the two groups, which are otherwise regarded as independent orders, are regarded as sister groups and are downgraded to subordinates of the Notoptera.
