Nova Television is the first advertising-financed television channel in Bulgaria . The Greek Antenna Group had owned the station since 2000 . On July 31, 2008, the Swedish media company Modern Times Group took over Nova Television for 628 million euros. The purchase was completed on October 16, 2008. In addition to Nova Television, the company also operates the channels Nova +, Diema, Diema 2, Diema Family, MM and M2 in Bulgaria .
On March 22, 2019, Advance Media Group bought Nova TV from Modern Times Group for 185 million euros.
