Nozomu Katō ( Japanese 加藤 望 , Katō Nozomu ; born October 7, 1969 in Miyagi Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Katō learned to play football in the school team of Tohoku Gakuin High School and the university team of Tokai University . He signed his first contract with Hitachi (today: Kashiwa Reysol) in 199 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Football League . In 1994 he was runner-up with the club in the Japan Football League and rose to the J1 League . In 1999 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 288 games. In 2005 he moved to the second division club Shonan Bellmare . For the club he completed 170 games. At the end of 2008 he ended his career as a football player.
