Ntambanana ( English Ntambanana Local Municipality ) was a municipality in the district of King Cetshwayo , KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa with its seat in Bhukhanana . Bhekuyise Justice Biyela was the last mayor.

The municipality was named after the river flowing through the municipality.

The most important places in the municipality, besides the administrative center, were Qude and Nomponjwana .

In 2016 the municipality was divided into the municipalities City of uMhlathuze , uMlalazi and Mthonjaneni .
