Zero set
The name zero set is used in mathematics in different contexts:
- for Hilbert's zero set, also known in English-language literature as the “zero set”
- for Bolzano's zero digit set , a special case of the intermediate value set
- for the statement that a polynomial P ( X ) then contains a linear factor X - a rsp. can be broken down into linear factors ( product form ) if P ( a ) = 0 applies, see: (Gaussian) fundamental theorem of algebra and polynomial division
