Numen. International Review for the History of Religions is an international journal on religious studies in the sub-discipline of religious history . Current editors are Gregory D. Alles (McDaniel College, Westminster USA) and Laura Feldt ( University of Southern Denmark ). The magazine has been published annually in four editions since 1954 by the Brill publishing house in Leiden . Contributions are published in the peer review on all areas of the historical development of religion from the pre- ancient times, the ancient world to the present. The periodical would like to reflect the current state of research. It maintains a strict religious neutrality. Furthermore, reviews of relevant publications are published. In the “Numen Book Series”, monographs and compendia are published on current issues in religious studies that go beyond the actual core of the historical consideration of religion, such as the history of the subject .
