Nurgül Yeşilçay (born March 26, 1976 in Afyon , Turkey ) is a Turkish actress .

life and career

She spent her youth in Izmir , where she also went to school. Nurgül initially enrolled in secret and studied drama at the Anadolu University in Eskişehir , from which she graduated in 2001. While she was still a student, the Turkish population became aware of her through the series Ikinci Bahar (Second Spring) on ​​the side of the Turkish film diva Türkan Şoray. Since graduating, she has played in important plays, such as B. the Ophelia in Hamlet and the Blanche DuBois in Endstation Sehnsucht . In 2002 she gained popularity through the television series Asmalı konak (The Villa with the Hanging Grapes), in which she played the role of Bahar Karadağ. This series was successful in Turkey, so in 2003 the sequel Asmalı konak: Hayat was shot for the cinemas, in which she played the same role.

In 2004 she returned to the screens of Turkish viewers with the very popular series Melekler Adası (The Island of Angels), in which she again played the role of Serbet alongside Hande Ataizi. While filming, she met the Turkish actor Cem Özer. The two married on October 26, 2004. Also in 2004, she played the role of Saliha in the movie Anlat İstanbul! (Tell me, Istanbul). Due to her pregnancy, Nurgül left the Melekler adası series one month before the birth of their first son, who was born in 2005.
