Nutek

NUTEK ( Närings- och teknikutvecklingsverket ) was the Swedish authority for economic and regional growth until it was dissolved in March 2009 .

The authority, which was formed in 1991 through the merger of three central offices, had around 220 employees and a turnover of 1.68 billion SEK (~ 185 million euros) in 2005. From this budget approximately 1.3 billion SEK went as contributions to various programs and projects. NUTEK was assigned to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

As the central economic policy authority of Sweden, NUTEK was responsible for sustainable growth in the country

  • Support and financing of programs and projects in selected areas
  • Business information and advice, business start-up support
  • Development and coordination of regional support measures for companies
  • Preparation of analyzes and decision-making documents for the government

NUTEK was also the decision-making managing authority for the regional structural fund programs under the European Regional Development Fund . In addition, NUTEK took part in other European development programs as a representative of Sweden.

In March 2009 Nutek was dissolved. His responsibilities were transferred to Sweden's Growth Analysis Agency and Sweden's Rural Development Agency.

Until 1998, the Swedish Energy Administration also belonged to NUTEK, which was the first organization in the world to develop a standard for energy-saving devices. For a screen , this standard includes switching off the device in two stages with an adjustable time. Furthermore, an energy-saving mode below 30 watts and a wake up (start-up) within 3 seconds. If these criteria are met and the manufacturers have carried out the test according to the criteria catalog, a test seal is awarded.
