The Nuuk Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nuuk . It is Greenland's national stadium .
It is mainly used for soccer games and has a standing capacity of 2000.
It is the home stadium of the Greenland national football team and the club teams Bóltfelag 67 Nuuk , the seven-time Greenlandic champion, Inuit Timersoqatigiiffiat-79 , the Greenlandic champion of the year 2017, Nuuk Idraetslag and others.
The stadium has artificial turf , which was played on for the first time on July 1, 2016. Before that, it was played on ash-strewn ice. The artificial turf is UEFA-compatible; but Greenland is not a UEFA member .
Soccer games
In 1983 there were two international matches for Greenland in the Nuuk Stadium , namely on June 29th with 0-0 against Faroe Islands and on July 3rd with 2-3 against Faroe Islands.
Because the Greenlandic summer sports season only lasts two weeks due to the eleven-month winter, the final at Nuuk Stadium will take place in July or August.
Pop concerts
The pop group Nazareth gave a concert in 2007, the pop singer Suzi Quatro in 2011 at Nuuk Stadium.
