O Negócio ( Eng . The Business ) is a Brazilian dramedy , an in-house production by HBO Brasil. The series is set in São Paulo and takes place in the context of prostitution . The focus of the three friends Karin, Luna and Magali, as are garota de programa ( call girl work). In doing so, driven by Karin's interest in modern marketing , they try to professionalize their profession from a market-economy perspective. Stylistically, the series is based on contemporary American drama games. A total of four seasons with a total of 51 episodes were broadcast. Season 1 ran between August and November 2013, season 2 from August 2014 to November 2014, season 3 from April to July 2016 and the final season 4 from March to June 2018.

31-year-old Karin originally worked in a jewelry store, 24-year-old Luna in a bank. For various reasons, both decided at some point to make their living as call girls. The series begins with Karin's agent Ariel trying to sideline her because of her age. Then she went into business for herself and founded her own agency called Oceano Azul . She rents an office in a business district, hires a secretary, and mostly studies various marketing books to use business methods to build a customer base. For example, she organizes focus group interviews in which potential clients discuss their wishes. Or she builds up collaborations with bar owners and airport employees in order to acquire customers. Karin's friend Luna becomes a partner in the agency, as does 21-year-old Magali, daughter of wealthy parents, who befriended them both. Karin's main opponent is her ex-agent Ariel, who now sees her as a direct competitor and lets her spy on. He would either like to win her back or at least prevent her from being successful with her business.
