Eddy Joosen (born April 23, 1947 in Schoten ) is a former Belgian racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career in motorsport

Eddy Joosen was a well-known and successful touring car driver in the 1970s and 1980s . He was able to win the overall ranking of the most important sports car race in his home country, the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race, twice . In 1977 he won together with Jean-Claude Andruet in a BMW 530i . In 1982 he won the race with his German partners Armin Hahne and Hans Heyer . In addition, there were third places in 1989 (with Frank Biela and Thomas Lindström in the Ford Sierra RS500 ) and 1992 (with Hahne and Bernard Béguin in the BMW M3). In 1981 he finished second.

In 1978 he won the RAC Tourist Trophy and competed in car races until 1993. In his career he celebrated nine overall and four class wins.

Entrepreneur

After his time as a racing driver, Joosen entered the automobile trade and ran a Mercedes-Benz agency in Kontich .
