O beautiful May!

O beautiful May is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 375). The work was premiered on January 21, 1877 under the direction of Eduard Strauss in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein.

Remarks

The composer has put the work together based on motifs from the operetta Prince Methuselah . It thus joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 376 , 377 , 378 , and 379 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. The title name is a quote (lyrics) from this operetta. The playing time is about 9 minutes 21 seconds plus minus a few seconds, depending on the musical conception of the respective conductor.
