Hörstel location

The Oase Group ( spelling OASE ), headquartered in Hörstel (North Rhine-Westphalia), has around 750 employees worldwide and production facilities in Germany, Italy, Great Britain, the Netherlands and China in two business areas, the consumer business (products for water gardens, aquariums and Drainage and irrigation) and the commercial business (Fountain Technology and Lake Management).

history

The company was founded in 1949 as a repair shop for agricultural machinery. It was not until 1960 that pumps were first developed (for agricultural use). In 1966 the company developed the first small fountain and underwater pumps. In 1969 the company was renamed "OASE-PUMPEN August Wübker Söhne GmbH & Co Maschinenfabrik". In 2003, the private equity investor Cognetas bought the company from the owner Josef Wübker. In 1993 branches were opened in France and Great Britain, in 1994 in the USA and in 2007 in Turkey and China. In 2009, Oase opened its own innovation center at the Hörstel location, which is used, among other things, for product training and seminars (from basic to expert knowledge for pond construction through to knowledge about the correct water quality). In 2011 there was a change of investor. From this year onwards, Equistone PE supported the Oase Group in its growth strategy. This was successfully implemented through the takeover of Eden Srl (Italy) in 2013, the purchase of Geo Global Partners (USA) in 2014 and the takeover of the biOrb brand (Great Britain) in 2016. In 2017 Equistone sold Oase to Argand Partners and the management. In 2018 the company Atlantiv Water Gardens from the USA was taken over and in 2019 the company Söll Ltd. from Hof (Germany).

Business areas

The Oase Group is active in two business areas; the consumer business and the commercial business.

In the consumer business (water gardens and aquaristics), pumps, filters and equipment for private garden or swimming ponds, streams and water features have been the focus for decades. Here the company is the global market leader and, as an innovation and quality leader, is the benchmark for the industry. With acquisitions (Eden, biOrb) and innovative new products, OASE is now also one of the market leaders in the aquarium business. Since 2016, OASE has also been selling a professional range of pumps for irrigation and drainage.

In the commercial business (Fountain Technology and Lake Management), Oase has carried out numerous major projects around the world, such as For example, the water garden in Istanbul, the dancing cranes in Singapore, the multimedia fountain system in front of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur or the installation on the Banpo Bridge in Seoul have been realized.
