Oates Canyon
Coordinates: 68 ° 0 ′ S , 164 ° 30 ′ E
The Oates Canyon is a deep sea trench in the Somow Sea off the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It runs east of the Iselin Bank .
The in June 1988 by the Advisory Committee for Undersea features recognized (ACUF) designation was based on that of the same coast. It is named after the British polar explorer Lawrence Oates (1880–1912).
