Oberanven ( lux . : Ueweraanwen , French : / English : Oberanven ) is a small town in the municipality of Niederanven (lux .: Nidderaanwen ), in the canton of Luxembourg in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (lux .: Lëtzebuerg).

The administrative center of the municipality of Niederanven (French: Administration Communale de Niederanven ) , which was newly built in 2005, is located in Oberanven .

The number of inhabitants in Oberanven has increased from 627 (2005) to 725 (2013) or 753 (2019) (around +20% in 14 years).

Worth seeing

  • Feltzerhof (lux .: Feltzer Haff ) from the middle of the 17th century.
  • The war memorial on the sand (French: Monuments aux morts am Sand ) in Oberanven commemorates the victims of the Second World War. The monument was designed by the Luxembourg sculptor Raymond Petit, who donated it to the Niederanven municipality. Marbrerie Boost realized the monument in pink granite . The inauguration of the monument took place on October 9, 1995 as part of the Journée de la commémoration nationale ( German : National Day of Remembrance).
