Romans
At the time of the Romans there was a fort in Oberdorf called Opia.
From the Middle Ages
Oberdorf was first mentioned in 1268 as Oberndorf . The place came to Bavaria in 1806. In 1810 it was incorporated into Württemberg. Since October 1, 1973, Oberdorf has been a district of Bopfingen.
