The Rustavi trolleybus was a trolleybus operator in the Georgian city ​​of Rustavi .

history

The company opened on February 16, 1971. In 1985 there were eight lines with a network length of 48.1 km, on which 49 vehicles were used. The business fell sharply after the independence of Georgia. Later only lines 1, 3 and 5 operated. At that time, 16 vehicles were available. Finally, on September 24th, 2009 the last trolleybus drove in Rustavi.

The Škoda 9Tr , Škoda 14 Tr , Ikarus 280T and ZiU-9 were used . An Ikarus trolleybus converted from a diesel bus was retired in 2004. Later only Škoda 14Tr and ZiU-9 were used. 3 vehicles were taken over from Athens , some from Tbilisi , where trolleybus operations were stopped in 2006.
