Sankt Lambrecht trolleybus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sankt Lambrecht trolleybus was a trolleybus operator in the Austrian state of Styria . It existed from November 16, 1945 to April 21, 1951, was about eight kilometers long and led from the Mariahof - Sankt Lambrecht station on the Rudolfsbahn via Sankt Blasen to the dynamite plant of Dynamit Nobel AG in the Weisenbach district of Sankt Lambrecht. The operating company was Dynamit Nobel AG itself, the electrical voltage was 550 volts.

The route was single-lane, in operation daily between 6:00 and 14:00 and was mainly used for works traffic . For this purpose, three three-axle overhead line trucks with the numbers 1 to 3 were available, two of which were usually in use at the same time, while the third car served as a reserve. In addition to transporting goods , the three vehicles were also used for non-public works personnel traffic . For passenger transport , they had a spacious cabin with seven seats , based on the principle of a combination bus.

The three overhead line trucks were built by Lohner on Italian chassis from Alfa Romeo , the electrical equipment came from TIBB . After the discontinuation, the vehicles were brought to the Kapfenberg trolleybus in 1956 . Car 2 was converted there for passenger transport and was used as trolleybus number 18 from 1957 to 1967. The other two only served as spare parts donors in Kapfenberg.
