Ulaanbaatar trolleybus
The Ulaanbaatar trolleybus is the only trolleybus system in Mongolia . The trolleybus service in the capital Ulaanbaatar was opened on October 29, 1987 and today consists of the four lines 2, 4, 5 and 6. They are mainly served by around 40 SiU-9 wagons , which were imported from the Soviet Union at the time . Newer models from Russia have also been in use since 2007, and a Hyundai omnibus was converted into a trolleybus in the same year .
In Ulaanbaatar, trolleybuses are also called goat wagons because of their power.
