Sebastian Buchegger

Sebastian Buchegger (born January 23, 1870 in Singen / Hohentwiel , † March 2, 1929 in Augsburg ) was a German architect .

Life

Buchegger completed his architecture studies at the royal building trade school in Stuttgart between 1890 and 1894 and then worked as a draftsman in the Straub & Büchler architectural office in Basel. After the turn of the century he found a job at Krauss & Dürr in Augsburg. From 1905 he left this position and founded a construction company. In 1907 Buchegger was one of the founding members of the Augsburg artists' association "Die Ecke" .

The so-called Thelottviertel in Augsburg can be described as Buchegger's life's work . He devoted himself to this project with full commitment from 1905 and tried to create a housing estate based on the English garden city movement .

His estate is administered in the Swabian Architecture Museum .
