Obijmy Doschtschu ( Ukrainian : Обійми Дощу) is a Ukrainian rock band that describes their style as lyrical , autumnal rock music with influences from progressive rock , neoclassical and Doom Metal .
Band history
Obijmy Doschtschu was founded by Agafonkin in 2004, initially as a solo project. Oleksij Katruk joined them later and a first demo was recorded. Two years after its founding, in spring 2006, the band performed live in Kiev for the first time after Mykola Krywonos joined the band as bassist . In autumn, Oleksij Katruk changes from keyboard to electric guitar , and Andrij Demjanenko joins the band and becomes the new keyboardist.
Serhij Dumler joins the band in 2007 and takes over the drums . In the same year Marija Kurbatowa joins the band and replaces Andrij Demjanenko, who had previously left the band, on the keyboard. Now that the band had a complete lineup, they began to give concerts and take part in festivals in Ukraine more often .
After several demos, the band released their debut album on August 28, 2009 as a free download on their website. Overall, the album consists of eight songs, which are a kind of summary of the previous career. Numerous guest musicians were involved in the realization of the album.
The music group is currently working on their new album, which is expected to be released in autumn 2011.
