Frunze Oblast

The Frunze Oblast was an administrative subject of the Kyrgyz Soviet Republic within the Soviet Union . It comprised the northernmost part of Kyrgyzstan, around the republic capital Frunze (today Bishkek ). The oblast was formed in 1939, three years after Kyrgyzstan was separated from the Russian SFSR . In 1944, the area around the city of Talas , previously the western part of the Frunze Oblast, was separated as an independent oblast. The area of ​​the Frunze Oblast corresponds to today's Tschüi area in independent Kyrgyzstan . However, the capital Bishkek was spun off as an independent administrative subject.
