from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Obole was a Swiss field measure and was valid in the canton of Neuchâtel (Neuchatel). The measure was used to measure fields, meadows and forests. As a smaller measure of the rod , in the dialect field rod or perche de champ, it was a measure of area.

  • 1 Obole = 16 Lausannois = 256 Perpillotes = 0.515 square meters
  • 1 rod = 16 pied = 256 minutes = 4096 oboles
  • 1 square field rod = 256 square field feet (1 field foot = 287.148 millimeters ) = 2110.8 square meters

Note: Oboli was the name of a coin.
