Ocean's Seven
Ocean's Seven is a 7-part long-distance swimming challenge for swimmers and is considered the equivalent of the Seven Summits (highest peaks on every continent) for mountaineers.
The American swimming coach Steven Munatones came up with this idea to find a similar challenge for long-distance swimmers ( open water swimmers ). In contrast to the mountaineering challenge, these are “only” on five continents.
Irishman Stephen Redmond was the first to complete all seven challenges in 2012. So far there are twenty people, seven of them women, who have accomplished this feat. The straits are not distributed across all continents.
An alternative definition is swimming through a strait in all seven continents. Lynne Cox has swum across six continents and swam 25 minutes in Antarctica.
