Oda Nobukatsu

Oda Nobukatsu (織田 信 雄; * 1558 ; † June 30, 1630 ) was a Japanese samurai and the second oldest son of the first Japanese unifier, Oda Nobunaga . In 1579 he attacked his clan's enemies in the Iga region , but was defeated. He stayed during the Honnōji incident , in which his father and brother were killed, (1582) not in Kyoto and also survived the subsequent turmoil, which was accompanied by a significant loss of power in his family. In 1584 Oda Nobukatsu made peace with Hashiba Hideyoshi and subsequently became his follower. He later betrayed Hideyoshi's son and heir and joined the Tokugawa . During the Edo period , which began shortly thereafter, as a follower of the Tokugawa shoguns, he owned numerous lands that were valued at around 50,000 koku .
