Oebalus pugnax is a Wanzenart from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae). Their English name is Rice Stink Bug ("rice stink bug ").
features
The light brown colored bugs are 8-12 mm long. You are slim. On the sides of the pronotum there is a spike pointing forward. The scutellum is colored yellow.
Occurrence
Oebalus pugnax occurs in America. The distribution area of the bug species extends from the north of the United States (Maine, Minnesota) to Brazil. The species is also represented in the Caribbean.
Way of life
The bed bugs are considered to be agricultural pests of economic importance in the USA . They suckle on various grasses and on cereals (wheat, rice, maize). 95% of all stink bugs in rice fields in Florida are attributed to the species Oebalus pugnax . There have been reports that the bug species also attack caterpillars.
The female lays up to 45 eggs in two rows, which are initially green and later turn red. The bugs go through five nymph stages. There are 2–5 generations per year. The bug species usually hibernates as an imago.

etymology
The additional species pugnax is derived from Latin and means something like "combative" or "argumentative".
