Oed market

Oed Markt is a village and a cadastral municipality of the market town of Oed-Oehling in the Amstetten district in Lower Austria .

location

The place west of Amstetten is on Wiener Straße (B 1) and thus on the medieval “Hochstraße” and the former Roman road “strata publica”.

history

Mentioned in a document around 1140, the place was raised to market in 1318. In 1580 there was a citizens' hospital. 1630 a market brick barn, the brick factory was closed in 1878.

1972 Oed Markt was merged with Öhling .

Building

The scheduled street market has two-story eaves-standing street wings with partly preserved late-historical facades from 1868 to 1882.
