Revelation religion

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under revealed religion means a religion that forward calls to their self-concept that God is a (usually in writing retained) revelation he had received. These are especially the monotheistic religions : the Jewish , the Christian , the Islam and the Bahá'í Faith with their respective scriptures : Hebrew Bible , Christian Bible , the Koran and the sacred writings of the Bahai .

The alleged recipients of such divine revelations are called prophets . For example, Moses spoke to God face to face:

"But the LORD spoke to Moses face to face as a man speaks to his friend."

The later prophets, such as B. Jeremiah are said to have considered themselves chosen by God:

"And the word of the LORD came to me: I knew you before I prepared you in the womb, and set you apart before you were born of your mother, and made you a prophet for the peoples."

The apostle Paul , who wrote an essential part of the New Testament , wrote about the origin of his preaching that he had received it as revelation:

“For I make it known to you, dear brethren, that the gospel that I preached is not of a human nature. For I did not receive or learn it from a person, but through a revelation from Jesus Christ. "

- Paul : Letter to the Galatians 1.12  LUT
