Official Detective is an American anthology series that was broadcast nationwide. The show was hosted by Everett Sloane . The 40 episodes of the first and only season were broadcast on the NTA Film Network between July 1957 and March 1958. The episodes of the series are archived in the UCLA Film and Television Archive . It is based on the series of the same name, which was also adopted in the radio program. According to the time, the series was produced in black and white and in mono. The series is often compared to Dragnet .
