Offshore wind industry alliance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The offshore wind industry alliance was founded in October 2012 by three wind energy networks (OWIA) and the capital city office was opened in Berlin . The office is run as an office community with the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation and represents around 550 companies, institutes and organizations in the offshore wind sector organized in the networks. It represents the industrial policy interests of project developers and operators, plant manufacturers, suppliers and the associated service providers.

Goal of the alliance

The alliance aims, especially the issue and the necessity of offshore - wind power to represent, in the professional and political discussion in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the now confusing landscape of the wind industry, it is intended to serve as a direct point of contact for the offshore sector and to provide information about the pioneering work on wind energy in the offshore sector. This applies to the innovative and complex overall task of building German offshore wind turbines (WEA) at distances of more than 50 km from the coast, the construction of transformer and converter platforms (conversion of three-phase current into direct current ) and the transmission of electricity on land.

The wind energy networks are the Wind Energy Agency (WAB), Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg Clusteragentur GmbH (EEHH) and Wind Energy Network eV (WEN); through the establishment of the OWIA, they connect the offshore wind industry in the northwest and northeast regions as well as the Hamburg metropolitan region with one another.

The networks appear jointly, on an equal footing and in partnership with the Federal Representation in Berlin, in cooperation with the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation. The OWIA is financed exclusively from the funds of the participating networks.

Wind energy agency WAB

The wind energy agency WAB is a corporate network with over 350 companies and institutes from all areas of the wind industry with a focus on maritime wind and offshore companies. WAB is also co-organizer of the offshore wind fair and conference held in Germany.

Renewable Energies Hamburg

The Hamburg Renewable Energy Sector Network (EEHH) was founded in 2011 with the aim of strengthening the renewable energies sector in the Hamburg metropolitan region and networking the players with one another. It has around 170 members from the fields of research, production and services.

WindEnergy Network

The WindEnergy Network association is an industrial network and was founded in 2002, has around 130 members in 2016 and sees itself as a state and national contact for the onshore and offshore wind energy industry in Germany. Important goals of the association are to support the energy transition with a steady expansion of wind energy on land and at sea, to network and represent the interests of your companies in society as well as to organize seminars and conferences for the exchange of knowledge and experience. In addition, there is presentation at trade fairs and events. The association's specialist conference is the annual Wind & Maritime Future Conference in Rostock.
