Okosama lunch

Okosama Lunch or Okosamalanchi ( Japanese お 子 様 ラ ン チ okosama ranchi , from お 子 様 okosama "[your] child" and English lunch , "lunch") is a menu for children in Japanese restaurants, consisting of popular dishes from the menu. A flag is placed on the summit of the Pilaureis in the form of a mountain. In addition, a toy is usually added.

The first Okosamalanchi was allegedly on December 1, 1930 during the Great Depression by the chef Andō Tarō of Mitsukoshi -Kaufhausrestaurants in Nihombashi in Tokyo designed to provide them with the intention to give children an exciting experience when eating.

Compositions

The following compositions are possible for an Okosama lunch:

  • Meal: a pilau rice, a ketchup rice in an omelette ("Omu-reis"), spaghetti, a hamburger steak patty, a fried shrimp , a sausage, french fries, salad
  • Drink: a fruit juice
  • Dessert: a jelly, a pudding
  • a toy
