Olaf Bastian

Olaf Bastian (born April 22, 1952 in Bad Oldesloe ) is a German lawyer and local politician ( CDU ). From 1993 to 2007 he was district administrator for the district of North Friesland in Husum .

Life

After studying law in Hamburg, he completed his legal clerkship in the districts of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court and the OLG Schleswig and then worked as a lawyer from 1983 to 1985.

Bastian was a judge at the Schleswig-Holstein Administrative Court from 1985 to 1993 .

In 1993 he was elected district councilor by the district council, after which he won direct elections for this office twice.

From 2007 he was the representative of the State of Schleswig-Holstein at the federal government in Berlin and then briefly became State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs of Schleswig-Holstein in 2009, before moving to the Ministry of Finance in the same function until 2012.

He has been working as a lawyer again since 2013.
