history

It is believed that John Cant had Old Duloch House built after purchasing the property in 1729. Around the middle of the 19th century the building was empty. John Cunninghame, Lord Cunninghame , had Duloch House built on the south edge of the property in 1844 . Old Duloch House was then used to accommodate the servants. After the owner died in the late 19th century, the managed Duloch estate was leased. Duloch House was demolished in 1955. The vacant Old Duloch House was restored in 1970 by Alastair Harper .

description

Old Duloch House is on the southeast edge of Dunfermline. The two-storey mansion is simply designed in a classical style. The natural stone surrounds are contrasted in color from his Harl- plastered facades. The south-facing main facade is five axes wide. A fanning-out front staircase with cast iron railings leads to the central two-winged entrance portal, which is framed with rod ornaments and closes with a warrior window . Mainly elongated, 12-part lattice windows are embedded along the façade , which are protected by cast-iron bars in the basement . Small hipped dormer windows emerge from the platform roof covered with gray slate . A flat wing emerges in the middle of the almost symmetrical rear facade.
