Ole Korneliussen

Ole Korneliussen (born April 10, 1947 in Nanortalik ) is a Greenlandic writer .

Life

Ole Korneliussen was born in Nanortalik in South Greenland, but spent his childhood in Aasiaat and Nuuk . In 1967 he moved to Denmark. In 1973 he published his first collection of poems, Putoq . With the novella Seqinnersumi apisoq he won a literary competition of the Nordens Institute in Greenland in 1987 . In 1999 he was nominated for the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council for the poetry collection Uumasoqat . In his works, Ole Korneliussen deals sarcastically with both Greenlandic and Danish social issues . He translated many of his works into Danish himself.
