Mingfeng (Pengxi)

Mingfeng ( 鸣凤 镇 , Míngfèng Zhèn ) is a large municipality in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Pengxi County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Suining in Sichuan Province . Mingfeng has an area of ​​70.12 square kilometers and a population of 31,900 (2017). The large community is located in the southeast of Pengxi, about 12 km from the center of the district.

The settlement has existed since the beginning of the Qing Dynasty and has been called Mingfeng since the time of the Guangxu Emperor . When China was re-established in 1950, Mingfeng was set up as an urban community and transferred to a district in 1964. In 1992 the district was dissolved and Mingfeng became a large parish.

In Mingfeng there are several projects to develop and promote agriculture. In 2017 there were projects to cultivate 200 hectares of cinnamon , 70 hectares of lotus and 30 hectares of medicinal plants. Poultry and beef, as well as walnuts, vegetables and rapeseed oil are also produced.
