Ole Kristiansen

Ole Kristiansen (born June 10, 1965 in Aasiaat ) is a Greenlandic musician .

Life

Ole Kristiansen's music career began in 1989 when he released his debut album Isimiit iikkamut . The song Zoo inuillu was played on MTV and reached a larger audience. The album was sold over 10,000 times, with a population of around 50,000 in Greenland. In 1991 his second album Pop uummataarufimmi was released . The third album was Ullungullu illungullu inuuningullu tumerparpaartoralugit , which was released in 1997. Qaqqat asiilasuut followed in 2004 and Kikiak in 2007 . His most recent album to date is Qasapi-p ullua kingulleq from 2012.

For the first time in Greenland, Ole Kristiansen's texts were less politically influenced and deal with topics on a personal level. They are written more lyrically and have a variety of metaphors. Overall, his music is clearly more international.

Ole Kristiansen received the Koda Award in 2009 . In 2012 he received the Greenland Culture Prize .
