Oleg Ivanovich Borschtschewski

Oleg Ivanovich Borschtschewski ( Russian Олег Иванович Борщевский ; born January 3, 1969 in Belzy ) is a Russian pop singer.

At the age of six Borschtschewski began piano training at a music school. Since his parents shied away from buying an expensive piano and feared that their son's musical interest would soon wane, Borschtschewski was only able to play in school in his youth. Later he sang in a children's choir and danced in a children's group. After studying at the art college, he did his military service. Borschtschewski graduated from the Plekhanov Academy of Economics in Moscow . After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he studied and worked in London for several years . At the end of the 1990s he traveled back to Moldova and trained as a computer scientist.

At this time he began to write his own songs. Together with Elena Kiper he founded the group Nitschja . After the success of their song Nitschja , which was published on the Internet , they got a record deal with Sony Music . Her first maxi-single Natschinai Menja (Russian Начинай меня ; German start with me ), published on CD, sold over 10,000 copies, and the album NAWSJEGDA! (Russian НАВСЕГДА!; German Forever! ) another 60,000 times.

In 2006 Nitschja separated, and Borschtschewski has been working on a career as a solo artist ever since.
