Olga Eckstein

Olga Eckstein (born May 26, 1920 in Oer-Erkenschwick ; † March 9, 2000 ) was a multiple German champion in art and high diving .

Life

Eckstein was a member of the swimming club SV Neptun Erkenschwick. The six-time German champion in diving (1939-1943 and 1947 as Olga Hoffmann) was active until 1952 in their sport. She later worked in the works council office of the Ewald colliery in Oer-Erkenschwick. On March 31, 1995, at the age of 75, she married her long-term partner Günter Strangfeld , a former boxer.

In Oer-Erkenschwick a street is named after Olga Eckstein.
