Oliaigua

Oliaigua (sopa menorquina), also known as oliaigo , is a traditional Menorcan soup .

Basically, Oliaigua consists of mineral water (Aigua) and olive oil (Oli), hence the name, salt and certain vegetables, such as garlic, peppers, onions and tomatoes, are cooked, but never heated so much that the boiling point is reached. Oliaigua can be served by placing slices of hard bread in a deep bowl and then soaking them in the oliaigo fresh from the heat. Oliaigua is also prepared with figs when the fig trees are bearing fruit.

Oliaigua contains the following ingredients: olive oil , onion , cloves of garlic , sweet peppers , pear tomatoes , parsley , mineral water , slices of rye bread , salt and pepper.
