Oliver Anders , born in the 20th century, is a German disabled athlete .

Career

Oliver Anders is severely disabled and did swimming as a competitive sport in the starting class S9 and SM9 (for relays S7-10). He mainly competed in the disciplines freestyle, posture and back, but also chest. He was most successful in the season.

Because of his good performance, he was appointed to the German national disabled swimming team. At the IPC Swimming World Championships in Malta in 1994 , he won gold in the 4 x 100 m relay. In the individual over 100 m back he came in seventh place in the final round. At the 1996 Paralympic Summer Games in Atlanta , the German swimming team won the 4 x 100 m relay in freestyle with the line-up of Oliver Anders, Holger Kimmig , Detlef Schmidt and Stefan Löffler the Olympic victory and thus received a gold medal. Anders won a second gold medal in the same line-up in the 4 x 100 m layered relay. For winning the two gold medals at the Paralympic Summer Games in 1996, he and the members of the freestyle and layered relay were awarded the silver laurel leaf by the Federal President. His best individual result was 5th place in the 400 m freestyle.

In 1998 Anders competed at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Christchurch , where he made it to the final in the 400 m freestyle, but did not reach medal ranks again.
