Oliver Upmann

Oliver Upmann (born June 23, 1988 in Ibbenbüren ) is a German judoka in Parajudo . His greatest successes were bronze at the European Championships in 2011 and 2017 and 5th place at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

Life

Oliver Upmann started judo with Stella Bevergern at the age of 6. After graduating from high school in 2009, he moved to Mannheim. Oliver Upmann started training there with national coaches Stefan Saueressig and Carmen Bruckmann. He fights in the weight class up to 100 kg.

Upmann studied financial services and corporate finance (Bachelor) at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences from 2009 to 2013. Following this, Oliver Upmann took up the finance and accounting course at the Ludwigshafen University of Economics and Society . He finished his master's degree in 2016 as a Master of Arts. Oliver Upmann has been working for the Rhein-Neckar transport association since 2017 .
