Olja Savičević

Olja Savičević (* 1974 in Split ) is a Croatian writer.

She studied language and literature at the University of Zadar . She has published three volumes of poetry, extracts from which have been translated into several languages, and works as a columnist, literary critic and editor.

In 2006 the stories in Augustschnee were awarded and published as the best manuscript of the year by the newspaper Vijenac and the AGM publishing house. The book was shortlisted by the jury for the Kiklop prose prize and the literary prize of the newspaper Jutarnji list. She received the renowned Marinković Prize for short prose for her story “Der Held” .

In 2011 her first novel Farewell, Cowboys was published by Voland & Quist .
