Olumuyiwa Olamide Osifuye

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Olumuyiwa Olamide Osifuye (* 1960 in Lagos ) is a Nigerian photographer .

“At first, optometry was Osyfuye's main job. Since 1996, however, a photographic work has been created that tells of the harsh living conditions but also the triumph of humanity in today's Nigeria. Osyfuye is a photo essayist, although at first he seemed to work more as a documentary. His work is narrative, if not necessarily in a straightforward way. The images capture the bitter reality of a society that has long been under the yoke of a military dictatorship and largely suffers material hardship, and at the same time suggest eloquently and without using visual clichés fall for a proud and indestructible people.
