A can of Olvi beer

Olvi is a Finnish brewery company based in Iisalmi . The company produces beers, lemonades, energy drinks and mineral water under various brands.

Olvi was founded in 1878 under the name Iisalmen Oluttehdas ("Iisalmier Brewery") by a group of people led by pharmacist Gustaf Ignatius and master brewer William Gideon Åberg. In 1880 the first batch of beer was sold. 26 years later, in 1906, the first lemonade was sold. In 1919 Åberg took over 100% of the shares in the company. The name Olvi was adopted in 1952 after the brewery of the same name, Olvi Oy from Helsinki, ceased operations and Iisalmen Oluttehdas secured the naming rights.

The Estonian brewery A. Le Coq and the Lithuanian brewery Volfas Engelman are part of the Olvi Group.
