Oman Telecommunications Company SAOG ( Omantel ; Arabic الشركة العمانية للاتصالات, DMG aš-šarika al-ʿumāniyya li-l-ittiṣālāt , shortعمانتل / ʿUmāntil ) is an Omani telecommunications company founded in 1987 in the field of mobile and wired communications. In December 2006 sales were 323.6 million Omani rials .

In 2007, Omantel was the only Internet service provider with its own fixed network in Oman with 270,000 customers and the largest mobile communications company (Oman Mobile) with 1.49 million customers (60% market share).

Omantel was partially privatized in 2005 by issuing shares on the Muscat Stock Exchange , with the government still holding 70% of the shares.

FALCON submarine cable

The FALCON submarine cable will be connected to the Oman network at two points in Oman: Sib (Al Seeb) and al-Chasab .
