Omar Esparza

Omar Alejandro Esparza Morales (born May 21, 1988 in Tototlán , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player who is used either in defense or in midfield and was previously under contract exclusively for his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara . Occasionally he is also used for the reserve teams of Chivas who play under other names and in the second or third division.

Omar Esparza made his professional debut in the Mexican Primera División on October 15, 2005 at the age of just 17 in a game between Chivas Guadalajara and CF Monterrey , in which he was used for eleven minutes. At the end of 2006 he was part of the squad of the Guadalajara championship team, which won the eleventh league title in their club history.

National team

Esparza was also part of the squad for the Mexican U-17 national team , which won the U-17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 . The Mexicans who were successful for the first time in such a competition were especially convincing in the final phase of this tournament, when they overran the Dutch 4-0 in the semifinals and clearly got the upper hand against defending champions Brazil 3-0 in the final .
