Bogislaw III.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bogislaw III. († after 1200) was a prince of the Schlawe-Stolp rule in Western Pomerania . He was a member of the Ratiboriden , a branch line of the Greifenhaus ruling in Pomerania . Little is known about him.

Life

A document from the year 1200, which has been handed down in a copy from the 15th century, is issued by ego Boguslaus et soror mea Dobroslaua de Sla [u] na ("I Bogislaw and my sister Dobroslawa von Schlawe"). This Bogislaw is classified as a member of the Ratiboriden , a branch line of the Greifenhaus ruling in Pomerania . He and his sister Dobroslawa von Schlawe were therefore the children of Bogislaw von Schlawe and grandson of Ratibor I. He ruled the Schlawe-Stolp rule in Western Pomerania , also known as the Schlawe country. He died after 1200. Ratibor II succeeded him in the reign .

Marriage and offspring

Bogislaw III. was married to a daughter of Duke Mieszko III, unknown by name . from Poland. From the marriage came:

  1. Ratibor II († before 1227)
  2. Margaretha (Audacia) († 1287) ∞ Count Heinrich I of Schwerin († 1228)

Occasionally there was also a Euphrosina , named as the first wife of Duke Swantopolk the Great of Pomerania , as the daughter of Bogislaw III. viewed.

count

The counting of the rulers of the Griffin House has always been involved. There has been an inequality here from age that causes some confusion. The counting of Bogislaw as Bogislaw III. results if one also counts these princes of the sidelines together with the dukes of the entire house of the Griffins. Of course, even with this counting method, Bogislaw's father, Bogislaw von Schlawe , is not taken into account and is not given a number.
